Victor Haddad
Liberty
Global Art Venue is proud to announce it's representation of noted Lebanese artist Victor Haddad in the month of  September. Victor is very well known for his work in Europe and of course the Middle East. This will be the first exhibit of his work here in the US. Victor's work with oil on canvas is very modernist with a very fine twist of Art Deco. All of Victor's work is like a history lesson. He focuses on Mythology, Legend, and the History of the Mediterranean region. His oil work almost looks like pastels, the colors are very soft or often quite brilliant. The imagery of his pieces will take your breath away. They are filled with subtle symbols and metaphors that allow you to get lost in the work.  All images of the artists work can be seen in his section of the website.

August 2005 ("Felipe Oyarzun")

Suspendida Convergencia
Felipe Oyarzun
Suspendida Convergencia, Oil on Paper,13" x 13"

"Everyday that I go into my studio I can feel again that is a search of which we hold sacred in life. All these searches took me to start exploring  the contents of my own inner world and the observations from nature.  My way of working is always experimental and is based in my human figure drawings. For me the line holds all the structure of the painting and communicate the specific idea and energy.  I always think in my work as a realistic painting, even if you dont see anything realistic. Because many times is a view  from the molecular and atomic world, that through many successive layers of paint, transforms into the final image.  My artwork relates to experience and action, but not with description.  They are not tales of static images, but an
interpretation of movements and states of consciousness."
  Felipe Oyarzún Eichholtz.

Per Fronth
Evolution of Melancholy
Mixed Media, Oil on Canvas
161.5" x 98.5"

Global Art Venue is proud to feature the paintings of Per Fronth and Clay Sneller for the month of February. Per Fronth, from Norway, is both a seasoned professional artist and photojournalist who brings a fascinating body of work to the gallery. His unique artistic medium of Photo transfer and oil on canvas allows the supposed portrayal of truth found in photography to be manipulated by pure creative license when combined with paint. Clay Sneller, an emerging artist from Ohio, is showing for the first time in Seattle. His soft, skillful use of color and light to instill a particular mood in each scene is remarkable. If you haven't had a chance to see the work yet it will be hanging until the end of the month, or please have a look at their artist sections on our website if you are not able to make it. Also new to the gallery is glass artist Richard Spaulding whose architectural glass has been commissioned throughout the United States in locations ranging from private residences to the Mid Manhattan Library.

Tali Dalton creates graceful glass sculptures that intertwine vertically and seem to defy gravity. Dalton's glass couples remind the viewer of lovers dancing to a soft ballad or close friends embracing after a long time has passed.

Robert Wynne's precise wheelcutting and brilliant iridescent glass create a contrast in his work of hard lines against soft finishes. He explores "contrast, tension and the natural beauty of glass." Notably his "Shimmer Bowls" appear to be woven baskets however are solid blown glass.

Liang Wei's recent landscapes give us a unique insight to his perspective of Washington State. His lively palette and charming details, strike a contrast between real and make believe. Wei carefully sets the scene for the viewer, allowing one to relax and dream.

Flat Form               Silence in the Mist
Brian Hirst-
"Black  Bowl Form"
"Silence in the Mist"

Long time friends and colleagues, Brian Hirst and Roslyn Kean work in two very different mediums, but their work begs to be viewed together.

Roslyn Kean's main form of expression is Japaneese Woodblock on paper. However, her approach is unique to the media, she introduces gold and silver leaf and extensive maniuplation to the surface. Kean's geometric patterns become puzzles that fit together and entice the viewer.

Brian Hirst's lavish Bowl forms pay homage to ancient Japanese ceramic vessels. His attention to detail allow a harmonious contrast between the inner and outer surfaces. Hirst's handling of gold, silver and platinum combined with precise engraving of the exterior produce a hypnotic affect.

Stanislaw Zoladz-
"Flowwood"
 Slava TCH-
  "Nine Days on West Coast"
Michael Roco-
"Under Sea Garden"

Stanislaw Zoladz
s ability to work with watercolors brilliantly communicates the experience of witnessing a fleeting, scenic moment. Stanislaw believes that watercolors are a very unreliable medium that can go its own way. That challenge gives him an opportunity to develop as an artist. Stanislaw’s ability to work with watercolors resembles a conductor; the colors are the musicians and together they can make something wonderful. Zoladz displays recent watercolors from his last United States visit.

The Russian duo Viatcheslav and Natalia Tchistiline continue their exploration into the classic encaustic method. The Tchistilines exhibit recent landscapes that traditionally take their roots from Egypt. However, Slava Tch and Natalia deliver paintings that- because of the encaustic media- are able to break into the third dimension with textured glossy surfaces and intense, pulsating colors of red, blue, and yellow. Each landscape uses simplified forms and challenging hues yet ones imagination can feel as if one is at home or has been there before.

Filipino glass artist, Michael Roco, exhibits his most recent wall, ceiling and standing sculptural work along with his double pods. Michael Roco's continued fascination for rare and unusual plants and sea creatures is prevalent. In this series Roco dares to use bursting hues and colors inspired by each season with irridescent surfaces. Michael Roco's sculptural work takes us  20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

The anticipated exhibition allows Global Art Venue to work with some of the most innovative glass artists who are known for their contemporary design and technical proficency. As mentioned, the creative display will feature work from Northern Korean artists Jong Pil Pyun, Sang Min Lee, Kuho Han, Sung Hwan Hong & Hyung Jong Kim. Emerging students Ji Yea Le & Jae-Sik Kim from Namseoul University in Korea also will exhibit their glass works throughout the month.
